Youth Group
April 15, 2026 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
The St. Mark’s Youth Group is a community of young people who journey together in faith, friendship, and service in Christ’s name.
Youth Group meets on the first and third Wednesdays of the month during the school year from 6-7:30PM. We begin with a brief contemplative service of Holy Eucharist in the chapel and then continue in the Youth Room with food and fellowship. View our meeting schedule for the year.
Other Youth Group offerings and activities include trips, the St. Mark’s Acolyte Corps, and service opportunities. We are going to the Taizé monastery in France in February, 2024. Read below for more information. The last day to register is November 16.
If you’d like to learn more or get involved, Fr. John would love to hear from you! You can contact him at jkennedy@stmarksnewcanaan.org.
Youth Taizé Pilgrimage
On offer for this year is a youth pilgrimage to Taizé, a monastery in eastern France from February 15-25, which falls during the New Canaan Public Schools’ winter vacation. A yearly youth trip to Taizé is an old St. Mark’s tradition, begun by Fr. Michael Bird in the ‘90s, and we have been graciously invited by his current parish, Trinity Wall Street, to join their annual pilgrimage.
The trip will begin with a stop in Barcelona for sightseeing before heading to Taizé to enter into the community’s rhythm of prayer, service, learning, and rest. The Taizé community is in Burgundy, France and is made up for more than 100 brothers from over 30 countries. Since its founding in 1940, the monastery has become a major site of Christian pilgrimage, particularly for young people. During the trip, our youth will interact with young people from around the world. The cost of this trip is $3,000 plus spending money, but financial aid is available.
The registration deadline is November 16.
